Meet the founder
Bradley Hook.
Creator of the FLAME Method and author of Start With Values, helping people and organisations build the capacity to update in an age of accelerating change.

The story
Hard science, made genuinely useful.
FLAME is a method for building the capacity to update: the skill of thinking clearly, staying curious and performing well when the ground keeps shifting. Brad Hook created it to turn the neuroscience of the predictive brain into something a team can use on a Monday morning. Based in New Zealand and working internationally, he delivers the work with warmth, humility and humour, and a rare ability to make hard science genuinely useful.
Brad has spent his career at the intersection of technology and human performance. He worked for a decade alongside Ian Hutchinson, the award-winning founder of Life by Design (Australia), where his MeCentral platform was used by five of Australia's ten largest companies. As partner, head of innovation and, for a time, CEO of the Resilience Institute, he rebuilt the Resilience Diagnostic and created its successor — refined through five rounds of psychometric validation into one of the world's leading workplace measurement tools, used by organisations including PwC, Nestlé and AXA — and in 2018 built one of the first biometric AI well-being platforms, years before such tools were mainstream.
He founded the Values Institute in 2018, work that led to his book Start With Values (Penguin Random House, 2025). FLAME is the next chapter — built alongside workplace-culture experts and leading voices across psychology, medicine, science and the wisdom traditions: a method, a live experience and a growing network for sustaining clarity, energy and meaning under pressure.

The approach
Where science meets wisdom.
FLAME integrates neuroscience and behavioural science with enduring philosophical traditions — from Stoicism to ancient Polynesian wayfinding. The result is a model that's rigorous enough to trust and practical enough to use on a Monday morning.
Science first
Grounded in how the brain and body actually work — not motivational fluff.
Story always
Ideas land and last when they're carried by story. Brad's sessions are built to be felt.
Practical above all
Every concept comes with a tool. People leave with something they can do, not just know.
